All German final for the junior boys – Title-holder Victoria Kan reached the final

Doppelsieger IMG 9301Doppelsieger 2011: Yaraslau SHYLA (BLR), Dennis NOVAK (AUT), Klara FABIKOVA (CZE) und Jessica REN (GBR)Vistoria Kan has taken an additional step towards defending her title. Even the Croatian Iva Mekovic wasn’t able to stop Victoria on her road to success. It was a hard-fought but eventually clear-cut 6:2, 6:3 victory. So far Kan hasn’t lost one set during the run of the tournament. More dramatic was the second semi-final where Donna Vekic (Croatia) triumphed against Anna Danlina ((Kasakhstan), winning the third set 6:4. The final will therefore be played by top-seeded Kan and second seeded Vekic.

There will be an all German final for the junior boys. Robin Kern managed to dominate his Czechian competitor Adam Pavlasek throughout the match and won without problems: 6:3 and 6:2. He will play the final against Constantin Christ (Frankfurt) who triumphed over his training partner, Julian Lenz (Bad Homburg), winning 6-4, 6-4. A slightly surprising victory, but one has to consider that Julian is suffering from a minor back injury. The favourite in the final is Robin Kern, but Constantin Christ because of his consistently solid playing and fighting stamina isn’t to be underestimated either.

We watched exciting doubles matches as well. Both finals were decided only in the match tie break. International German Champions 2011 are the junior girls Klara Fabikova( CZE) and Jessica Ren (GBR) and the junior boys Dennis Novak (AUT) and Yaroslau Shyla from Belarus.

Matches on Sunday will begin at 01.00 p.m. with the junior girls final, followed by the junior boys final.
