Defending Champions Ready to Play in Berlin Again
putintseva_2009-040The International German Youth Championships will have a first-rate cast of players once again. Both defending champions, the winners of last year’s tournament, our German young talents Anna-Lena Friedsam and Kevin Krawietz, have entered again at the LTTC “Rot-Weiss” event, starting on the 6th to the 11th of July 2010. Especially gratifying is the fact that last year’s finalist Yulia Putintseva from Russia has accepted to play as well. Until a few weeks ago Yulia Putintseva was one of the top ten players of the ITF juniors ranking. The prominent entry list of the field of players mirrors the importance of the first-class event in Berlin, and many of the top players of the juniors ranking will make an appearance in Berlin. We are also looking forward to the performance of our Berlin youngsters, especially the girls, because Berlin boasts two very hopeful international talents, Daria Gajos and Lisa-Marie Mätschke.

At the same time as the airberlin german juniors the Junior Championships of the Tennis Association Berlin-Brandenburg will be held at the grounds of the LTTC “Rot-Weiss”.

With about 350 participants altogether for the two  tournaments this is planned to be one the biggest tennis juniors’ event in Berlin, ever. The audience will be able to enjoy a wide variety of entertainments. Sales stalls will offer food specialties as well as various goods and entice the spectators to spend the breaks between games on the “Rot-Weiss” grounds.
